SOCIAL EDUCATION

We all know about the ancient world, but what was happening in China when Christians were being fed to the lions?

In Year 7 students explore some of these historical questions as well as discover how historians seek to recreate the past.

In Year 8 the focus is the modern world. Was that after the renaissance or after the Middle Ages? Don't forget that while all this was happening in Europe, back in Australia indigenous Australians had their own civilisation and culture.

This topic, as well as many other key events which helped shape modern day Australia, are covered in Year 9.

At VCE level, S.O.S.E develops into the separate subjects of History, Geography, Politics and International Studies.

If you want to start a VCE subject in Year 10, then we give you that choice. You may study Twentieth Century History or you may like to complete Political Studies.

If you take this choice, you will be able to complete these subjects in Year 11 at Units 3 and 4 level. You can also choose to study Geography or International Studies in Years 11 and 12.
