SALESIAN COLLEGE CHADSTONE HISTORY

In February1957, Salesian College opened with an enrolment of 61 students and a staff of nine Salesians.

In 1958 three new classrooms were added and the enrolment reached 110 boys.
An Administration Block was built in 1959 and there was an enrolment of 160 boys.

By 1961 the College was catering for Form Six boys and 360 students.

In 1969 the Senior Science Wing was constructed whilst the Library was completed in 1973.


A new complex, which included a Music and Drama Wing and an Assembly Hall, was opened during 1988.

In 1995 a new Technology Studies Centre was established.

During 1998
a major upgrade of the College's Information Technology facilities and resources took place.
